Our History

The Racine Community Foundation was built upon a single vision.

Our founders understood that an organization focused on Racine County’s future could bring together people of goodwill. The goal then and now remains the same. We work with residents, helping them invest in the preservation and enhancement of the quality of life in our area.

The Racine County Area Foundation (Racine Community Foundation) was incorporated as a tax-exempt, publicly-supported organization on August 22, 1975. Our founders include:
  • H.M. Benstead
  • Margaret Cisney
  • J.M. Hamilton
  • W.A. Naleid
  • Judy F. Rowland
  • E.G. Rutherford
  • John F. Thompson
  • Gordon R. Walker
  • W.H. Williamson, MD
We continue our efforts to achieve the vision of our founders as we work with generous people toward the betterment of Racine County.
